My background of more than 30 years of retail and professional experience is focused in marketing and sales within and for professional photography, imaging, and communications industry. I have worked as a commercial and portrait/wedding photographer/illustrator, as well as a studio manager and supplier’s rep. I have designed profit-building programs, such as the original Kidz Club national children’s portrait contest, compiled the book Award Winning Portraits of Children, as well as being the writer and editor for a national quarterly photographic publication. Throughout my career I have created and presented informative programs and presentations for professional industries given on a variety of levels (local, state, regional and national).
I have a Strategic Marketing Certificate from the Weatherhead School of Business (Case Western Reserve University, OH) and I am a graduate of De Anza College, Cupertino, California, with degrees in both Photography and Cinematography. I also earned a Photographic Craftsman’s Degree from The Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
Professional Photographers of California presented me with their “PPA National Award” in 1997 and recognized both me and my wife, Robin Clark, with their “Corporate Vendor of the year Award” in 2010 for “Outstanding Service and Contributions to professional photography” (which includes creating the People’s Choice Award for the annual Western States regional PPA convention and creating the Marketing Professional of the Year competition for Senior Photographers International).
I have continued to be deeply involved in the professional photographic industry in my position as Sales/Events Manager for Bay Photo Lab and as a member of PPA’s National Industry Advisory Committee.
