Ron was a military journalist with the Army from 1985-93. He was an entertainment writer and photographer in Europe and got to travel on the bus with the Beach Boys, and spend some time with the likes of Kris Kristofferson and Melissa Etheridge and Alex Lifeson of Rush. After his journalism career ended in the 1990s, he worked in the education industry and worked his way up to be the president of two Art Institute schools that offered bachelor degrees in photography. In 2012, he left that industry to focus on photography full-time and opened his first studio in 2016. He is now in a 3,250 square foot studio with two permanent dance floors. He’s the official photographer for Ballet Chicago, DePaul cheer and dance teams, and a lot of other dance schools and companies. He’s photographed for the Houston Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, Jacob’s Pillow, he’s been published in Dance Magazine, Dance Studio Life Magazine, and Pointe Magazine numerous times.
