50 Shades of Branding for Boudoir
When most people hear the word “Branding” or “Re-branding,” they think it means creating a cute logo, color palette, awesome tagline, and redecorating their website; however, branding is really so much more than this. Branding is the emotional connection and response you create with your clients. Without proper branding, it’s likely you will just go in circles with your company and lack booking actual clients. How many times have you seen people mimicking others because they desire to have a web page, flyer, company, and so on, like theirs? This habit will get you nowhere. Sure, at first you may bring in a few clients but after time, you will start to lack consistency. The reason for this is because your brand is someone else. YOU brand needs to be YOU. In this workshop I will be covering some of the following topics: Discover your unique Brand Identity and how to use that to separate yourself from others, making you personable to your clients (this is your “WHY”). Understanding who your target client is based off the connection and the overall message you conveying. Figuring out what your brand values are how living up to those values are important for your brand. Teaching you how to cultivate your own creativity in creating a look that represents you and your message. Understand how everything from printing your images to how you shoot, is all apart of your branding. I’m going to teach you my unique process for how to uncovering what makes you and your business truly one-of-a-kind and how to translate that essence into beautiful visual website setting the tone through the design. A deep dive into how to bring your passion and purpose in photography into any session. Photographing with intention to help convey the message of the moment in each shot.

Daryl Wilkerson Jr.

It is often said in many creative fields that we stand on the shoulders of giants. This is without a doubt true of photography as an art form. Many photographers expend a great deal of effort trying to develop a personal style. One of the most effective tools for development as an artist and photographer and developing a style that separates us from the competition is to study the work of the great master of fine art and photography. In this presentation, we delve into the creative process from concept to execution. Just where do the ideas come from? How to find inspiration and direction for the creative process. We will study the work of some of the great masters of portraiture, investigate what makes them great, and then deconstructing the portraits to determine how they were created. We will know what camera, lens choice, light modifier, and the auxiliary equipment will be needed to duplicate their results. In the process, we will learn to incorporate these techniques into our present work. We will then chose one series of techniques and attempt to duplicate them in the studio. We will create portraits of each other learning how to incorporate these new techniques into our personal style.

I had a client approach me wanting a Wedding Film that was totally different and preferably super funny. We discussed different options and we all got very excited to film the entire wedding day as if it was an episode from “The Office.” We went through a tremendous amount of preparation, my team and I were scared to death but couldn’t wait to see if we could pull it off. The wedding was a traditional wedding day, they didn’t plan anything around us. The result was the most fun we’ve ever had filming, editing and debuting a wedding film. To date the film has over 95,000 views on YouTube and we get new fantastic comments on it every day. This class is going to show you how we did it and teach you how you could do the same thing!! Hold on, let’s go for a ride!! Check out the finished film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNeEkIEDZJk

As businesses develop and find it a necessity to promote both the business and their executive across many platforms from print to web including websites, social media, and email campaigns the demand for quality business headshots and executive portraits keep growing. I have spent the last twenty years as a business and corporate photographer in the fast-paced business environment of Los Angles. Over the years I have put together a quick and effective gear kit that allows me to provide the client with excellent work while being nimble and portable. Time is always of the essence in the business environment. Most executives only have a few minutes that they are willing to give you so you must make the most of every option available. From the single executive environmental portrait done in their office or around the plant to a thirty-member law firm speed and convenience are paramount. In this course, you will learn, lighting setups for effective headshots and lifestyle-type portraits. I’ll share with you the gear I use and the setups I have found the most effective. We will work with portable strobes and mixed available light and artificial light. We go step by sept through how to put together a location shoot that you can put to work in your town. In the second half, we will apply these techniques by photographing each other under real work conditions.

This causes you to spend more time than you like on post editing instead of doing more productive things. Imagine if you could turn your images over the next day with only half hour of culling and no need to edit! Sherry is going to take you back to the beginning to teach tips on how to get your images right straight out of camera. She will cover topics such as proper white balance, composition, the exposure triangle, and will touch on posing. This class is great for all levels and genres.
